It takes a gifted writer to snare the reader from the first page of a story M.M Roethig does just that in Raine, crafting a hero and heroine who will capture your heart and have you championing them along, especially as they begin to understand not only who they are but how each fits into the life of the other Raine, a High School Senior, has no idea she has hidden powers, or even how important her abilities to control the elements are Strange things are happening to her and she doesn t know It takes a gifted writer to snare the reader from the first page of a story M.M Roethig does just that in Raine, crafting a hero and heroine who will capture your heart and have you championing them along, especially as they begin to understand not only who they are but how each fits into the life of the other Raine, a High School Senior, has no idea she has hidden powers, or even how important her abilities to control the elements are Strange things are happening to her and she doesn t know who she can trust That makes it harder when she begins to receive mixed signals from the handsome new boy in class, who is fighting his own inner battles of right and wrong. From the moment Raine and Kaden meet up, you know something is going to happen, and the story and suspense build from there The author does a fantastic job setting up believable relationships between her main hero and heroine, and weaves in additional characters who are engaging and necessary to move the plot forward This book will make you think After all, the Elementals and other magicals lived among the rest of the population without anyone knowing it It will also make you feel, and ultimately, you ll fall in love with the main characters and with the story, just like I did I m anxious to see where the journey takes Raine and Kaden and look forward tobooks in this series. As a previous fan of this author s shorter works, I was ecstatic to receive an Advance Reader Copy, and pleased to be able to offer my review of a very worthwhile book
