First off have to say this is another GR giveaway that I won and received back in March of last year Secondly, have to say that I felt like the universe is talking to me after winning all these self help kind of books Now on to my review of the actual book Unlike the detox book, I actually read this one all the way through From front to back, each chapter, and even the little supporting couple stories that correlated with each point the author was talking about And I really gotta say that First off have to say this is another GR giveaway that I won and received back in March of last year Secondly, have to say that I felt like the universe is talking to me after winning all these self help kind of books Now on to my review of the actual book Unlike the detox book, I actually read this one all the way through From front to back, each chapter, and even the little supporting couple stories that correlated with each point the author was talking about And I really gotta say that although there were some points that I agreed with the author There were others I felt like she was living in some sort of a fairy tale I also was not a really big fan of some of her generalizations that she would use to blanket things or a particular gender with.Like for instance where she talks about how it s not the couple s fault if their relationship doesn t work out Because they were just incompatible in the first place and not with the right partner And I can totally agree with her on that As some couples just DON T work out because what their values, goals, and what not do not complement each other at all, regardless how hot they are for each other But then she says stuff about how with the right partner they don t have separate interests from you without totally leading to having different lives Or, your right partner will always be supportive involved in some way with your professional goals and so forth Which to me personally boggles my mind Cause when I think of separate interests, I think of the guys that like to build model cars or whatever and that is his own unique, to himself time And not having a guy running off and joining the model building circus and you and your partner will never see each other again Or for that matter, if your partner is involved in a line of work that aren t in, how in the world can you get into something like that, realistically I mean I get listening to them and offering suggestions about raises or promotions, and having their back against horribly co workers But to say that the right person would just integrate into their partner s professional sphere in aactive way just read as really wrong to me.I also was not a big fan of the supportive stories either really after what the author would say I get they were supporting evidence and all that And she made note to having changed the real life people s names that she took the stories from But, I don t know after some of the things the author was saying in a rather preachy kind of way The stories didn t read as supporting stuff Butlike relationship urban legends to me As there just did not seem to be much connection as to who these couples were, what their relationship was to the author some how, or whatever It was just weird. So yea, would I recommend it Sure, for any one that hasn t realized that their right partner would not do this or that, to them But in general, for grown folks that get it and know what s up Then definitely not for them

Mostly conservative common sense when it comes to relationships But then some of it tips over into just old fashioned conservative views For example, it suggests you shouldn t live together before getting married frankly insane , and that if your partner comes from a society withstrict gender roles, then you should simply meet those gender role needs not cool. But the one thing this book gets very right, is that if you can t be yourself and relax in front of your partner, then it ain Mostly conservative common sense when it comes to relationships But then some of it tips over into just old fashioned conservative views For example, it suggests you shouldn t live together before getting married frankly insane , and that if your partner comes from a society withstrict gender roles, then you should simply meet those gender role needs not cool. But the one thing this book gets very right, is that if you can t be yourself and relax in front of your partner, then it ain t going to survive the longhaul

I was pleasantly pleased to see this book is written without religious references and is nondenominational and there is no hint the book is written and printed in Australia Professionals can attest to the quality of the content As a teacher dealing with challenged readers, it is user friendly as the format is very accessible with use of varied fonts, bulleted items, and short chapters clearly identified in a table of contents I received my copy for review from Goodreads First Reads.

full disclosure I won this book through GoodReads First ReadersA pretty terrible book DIdn t have the highest of expectations, but figured why not It was repetitive without any clear purpose except to tell people why they haven t chosen their right person a lot of assumptions and accusations without much substance.
