    Adolph Reed s books aren t perfect sometimes you can get lost in the academese, and I don t agree with all of his arguments But the originality and fearlessness and unshakeable sense of purpose in contrast to, say, what he thinks of the Jackson campaign or of much of what goes on within the American left as a whole makes it so worth it I wish his books were a bigger part of the leftist canon these days, because even if you disagree with what he s arguing, you can t help but have your argument Adolph Reed s books aren t perfect sometimes you can get lost in the academese, and I don t agree with all of his arguments But the originality and fearlessness and unshakeable sense of purpose in contrast to, say, what he thinks of the Jackson campaign or of much of what goes on within the American left as a whole makes it so worth it I wish his books were a bigger part of the leftist canon these days, because even if you disagree with what he s arguing, you can t help but have your arguments challenged and probably transformed by engaging with his
