    Make me cry, why don t you I m not Jewish but this is the first memoir I ve read that touches on the deep, constant cultural strain of immigrant households in a way that feels like it resonates, at least in part, with my own.

    I re read this book a year and a half out to see if I still appreciated it I did Perhapscomments will come later.I particularly love the scene when Jyl and Edith become department store gonifs.
